My Story
I was born and raised in the town of Colusa, CA. Which is located one hour North of Sacramento. My husband and I have chose to raise our two (now teenage) girls here. We are known for an agriculture community.
I joined Scentsy in October of 2010. I can honestly say I had never heard of Scentsy before then. So, You're probably wondering how the heck is she going to sell something that she has no idea what it is, right? Well, with a lot of research and calls to my director I did it. It honestly wasn't that difficult.
What seriously got me thinking about getting into something like this was, I have to say I have a great friend that had been selling jewelry at the time. (through Direct Sales) She'd come to work after a party and tell me all about how she'd had so much fun the night before, how much money she made from her parties, what incentives she was earning, etc. She was doing local events, farmers markets, craft fairs. In which that's what I was really more interested in doing. NOT home parties.
So, I started looking around and trying to find something that could get me out and some mommy time too, and extra cash as well. Candles, that's always a great one everyone loves candles, soy because they are all natural. (since natural is the up and coming). I stumbled across the Scentsy site. The idea of no flame and the wax is non-toxic and wont' hurt anyone was a huge plus. Great gifts and inexpensive as well.
5 years later my business has become so much more than just something to do with my partner in crime. It has given me a since of purpose. Before, Scentsy I had asked myself how in the world am I going to get up in front of a room full of people and talk??
Yikes..I cannot do that!! I'll have a party and just go around the room and talk to everyone in groups or one on one!!
Now, I feel somewhat confident. Before, Scentsy my confidence was at an all-time low. Being shy growing up and so much anxiety of getting up in front of people has been a huge fear of mine. Now, I'm confidently sharing the business opportunity with others. Thanks to the education and support provided by Scentsy Family and Scentsy Sisters!
My story is a story of choosing to overcome fears, insecurities and rejection. My business has affected my life in such a positive way personally and professionally. I am completely different person today, than the day I joined 5 years ago. Confident, driven, purposeful, blessed and joyful!
I am forever grateful for my choice to join the Scentsy Family!
